Shiatsu found me before I found it
In 2017, I received Shiatsu while undergoing chemotherapy for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The experience of dropping into a deep rest was unlike anything else I'd encountered.
After completing his qualifications in Shiatsu & Oriental Therapies in 2020, Jack began practicing at the Chinese Medicine clinic Natural Wellness Albert Park, where he honed his skills and developed his niche.
He later connected with Acufitz in Fitzroy, a community acupuncture clinic run by Dr. Jinan Cai, where he learned to apply Balance Method acupuncture techniques through the lens of Shiatsu.
Jack now works at the esteemed Ping Ming Health Chinese Medicine clinic in Melbourne CBD — on Elizabeth Street overlooking Flinders Street Station — as the resident Meridian Massage and Shiatsu therapist. Sessions can incorporate cupping and gua sha (scraping) alongside his signature Shiatsu approach.
Jack regularly participates in professional development across both Shiatsu and movement therapies. This includes Movement Shiatsu (2020) with Bill Palmer and Sotai training with Paul Mostavvin (2024).
He also maintains an ongoing teaching and practice in Raja Yoga under Robert Byrne, Ziran Qigong under Andrew Chambers, and a dedicated Vipassana practice as taught by S. N. Goenka, with over 70 days completed in silent meditation retreats.
How I Work
Whole-person treatment
Shiatsu addresses the body's connective tissue, joints and organ systems together. Each session is tailored to your goals — easing pain, improving sleep and digestion, or finding steadier energy.
Gentle ⟷ deep
Sessions blend rhythmic pressure, palming, holds and stretches, adjusting depth in response to your body's signals and readiness.
Tailored support
We close with simple take-home posture adjustments — breath cues & micro-movements — so the benefits of your session last between visits.
